Are You Ever Troubled?

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you . . . —John 14:27

Some folks seem completely at peace; but are actually just oblivious to the difficulties in their world. This is not the kind of peace Jesus is leaving us here. His peace is a peace, knowing the storms which surround us; but also aware of the control He has over it all, and the love and protection He provides to us.
I sense a lot of trouble in the Christian Church today. In some part it is base on a fear that our government is out of control. In some part it is based on the realization that we, the church, is, at least partially, at fault. Failing to fulfill our duties in the world,, we have allowed government to step in and take control of areas which rightly should be the subject of Christian charity and biblical morality. It will be a struggle to regain control of these areas. But that should not rob us of His peace. That's a gift that is unrelated to the troubles of the world around.

It is good to be aware of what's going on in the world; but we also need to spend sufficient time looking in the face of Jesus. “. . . My peace I give to you. . .”— a peace that comes from looking into His face and fully understanding and receiving His quiet contentment.

Lay everything out before Him, and when you are faced with difficulty, bereavement, and sorrow, listen to Him say, “Let not your heart be troubled . . .” ( John 14:27 ).

Rev. T. George Koshy India

Our focused missionary this week is Rev. T. George Koshy of India.
George Koshy graduated from South-western Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas. He was the roommate of Lloyd Singley (pastor at Northside-Crowley). Rev. Koshy went back to India and in 1970, began Faith Chapel and Bible Institute to train pastors in India to minister to their own people. In time, the name changed to Faith Theological Seminary,

and the ministry expanded to include various methods of sharing the Gospel. Included are a seminary for men and one for women, training centers in 4 languages, correspondence schools, church planting, Voice of Faith- a radio outreach broadcasted each week, social work, (school grants for needy children and sewing machines given to provide a means of income by sewing garments to sell),  vocational training centers (tailors and printing) and publishing three religious magazines.

Please keep this anointed missionary and his ministry in your prayers this week.
